I am Sainey and I have been a professional bird guide since 2008 with the Gambia Bird Guides Association and in 2022 I was appointed as a trusted member to their executive committee.
I grew up as a small boy watching tourists come birding to where I live and loved it so much I started watching and learning about birds as a hobby that grew to a passion and a career. With this passion I have got involved in securing a special local woodland as a reserve in my home area (Farasuto Community Forest), where I bring visitors. This also provides an apprentice opportunity for local young people to become guides of the future.
I have excellent English language skills and good writing skills. I have a car and can take you on personalised trips locally and all over the country both Gambia and Senegal help you get to the many rich sites for finding birds. Visitors say they like my friendly, calm and driven approach – as I really want all my guests to spot all the birds they were hoping to see.
